Discover the Magic of Horse-Powered Education
Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) is an educational approach that uses interactions with horses to help children develop important academic, social, and emotional skills. Through guided activities with gentle, trained horses, students can practice reading, math, communication, problem-solving, and self-confidence in a hands-on, engaging way.
Working with horses encourages focus, patience, and connection—skills that transfer to the classroom and everyday life. Each session is carefully structured to support your child’s learning goals while providing a unique, motivating, and joyful experience.
Horse Powered Reading®
Horse-Powered Reading® (HPR), founded by Michele Pickel, is an experiential learning program that helps children build reading and math skills through hands-on activities with horses. Instead of only working with books, students practice important literacy and numeracy skills like comprehension, phonics, problem-solving, counting, and communication while interacting with a horse. The horse becomes a partner in the learning process, helping students stay engaged and motivated. This unique approach builds confidence, persistence, and a stronger connection to learning.
Red Rover Reading
Social-emotional learning is supported through the Red Rover Reading Program. These activities help students develop empathy, emotional awareness, and relationship skills. When combined with horse interactions, students gain powerful opportunities to practice confidence, trust, and connection.
